Sunrise Yoga Studio offers variety of yoga classes that are suitable for individual of all experience levels and ages. Read more about each class to find the ones that are right for you. Then head over to schedule page to see what time your favorite class is held.

Beginner Basics:

Start your yoga journey here!  Learn the basics; alignment, breathing techniques, how and when to use props to modify poses. Learn to safely perform sun salutations and how to relax yogic style.   Suited for beginners but any level is welcomed to come and deepen their understanding of the practice. This class is taught by Julie

Beyond The Basics:

This  class is  ideal for the yogi who is comfortable with the basics of alignment and is craving more creativity and a quicker pace.  The class will include centering, breathing practices, sun salutations and vinyasa.  We’ll explore the  familiar as well as some fresh yoga poses to keep you learning and growing while deepening your strength, increasing your endurance and enhancing your body/mind connection. Relax and Restore:

(All- Levels Welcomed) In this restorative class, the focus is on stillness and letting go and allowing the systems of the body to return to their natural unstressed way of supporting you.  The breath, heart rate, and digestive system relax as stress melts away providing benefits to anyone dealing with stress, HBP, high cholesterol, weight control issues or are recovering from injuries or surgery or for  anyone that just  needs to relax and chill-out. Mindful Morning Practice:

Enjoy a slower pace and gentle flows in this ALL LEVELS yoga class. The class will begin with centering before moving into warm ups to prepare for traditional yoga poses and slow flows. The class will include breathing practices to reduce stress and revitalize your body and mind. All students will be empowered to “listen to their own wisdom” to personalize their practice. This class is taught by Julie

Sit and Stretch @ Clay Co. Senior Center 196 Ritter Road, Hayesville:

Experience  the yogic methods to keep and /or increase your range of motion.  You’ll build strength and flexibility while improving posture and balance.  The class will include centering and  mindfulness practices, traditional yoga postures from a seated (and standing) position along with revitalizing and de-stressing breath-work.  This class is great for people who want to get all the benefits of a yoga practice but find it difficult to get down to the floor to practice. 925:

This class is for the ALL the people who work “9 to 5 ” or just prefer an evening class. In this class we’ll incorporate mindfulness practices, breath awareness and include some restorative postures and mindful flows the will refresh and de-stress your body and mind so that you can finish out the week feeling stronger, with more vitality and a newfound sense of peace and calm. This class is taught by Julie

Friday Fusion:

This is a new class that will blend the best of two worlds…..Foundation Training and Yoga. Both of these are great as stand alone practices but will be even better together. If you’re interested in fixing a “bad” back or want to increase your level of fitness, this is the place to do it. The class will teach you how to incorporate Foundation Training into an existing practice and into your life by including four Foundation Training principles: you’ll learn how to decompress your spine, improve your postures, move more freely and breathe more deeply. This class is taught by Julie

Nuances:
  • If you are a new student, please fill out a registration form.
  • Inform teacher of any injuries or conditions.
  • Everyone sign in on the sheet; fill in your pass card.
  • Keep shoes off practice area.
  • Stow non essential items in the designated areas to keep clutter away from the practicing area.
  • Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in.
  • Classes are always barefooted and sticky mats are required. If you do not have one, a rental mat is available.
  • It is beneficial to drink lots of water before and after class to help stay hydrated and to flush toxins.
  • If you need to leave early, inform your teacher before class begins and take some time for your savasana (resting posture).
  • Please try to avoid stepping on another's mat.
  • Please inform your teacher, if you have an injury, are pregnant, or need special modifications.
  • Please come in quietly and join if you are running late, being mindful of where the class is. If meditating please wait until it is finished before unrolling your mat.
