In this workshop created for Yoga teachers and anyone else with an interest in Sanskrit, mantras or chanting, you will be introduced to the 50 seed sounds of the Sanskrit alphabet.
Sanskrit is an energetic language. Each “bija”- seed sound- carries its own particular vibrational quality. It is a precise and sophisticated language with specific rules for pronunciation which do not vary. Because each of the seed sounds resonate with its own vibrational qualities, through proper pronunciation ou will enhance your personal practice and, for teachers, elevate your teaching to a new level.
The alphabet, or “varna mala” is learned through oral repetition and chanting. Each of the see sounds corresponds to one of the petals of the 7 major chakras (energy centers). Thus by chanting the bija mantras, one is also activating and balancing the entire chakra system.
